Tokyo is the cultural hub of Japan. The culture of the city has evolved greatly over the millennia, from the country's prehistoric Jōmon period, to its contemporary hybrid culture, which combines influences from Asia, Europe, and North America. It contains all the best museums and art galleries. For example the Tokyo National Museum or the Zoological Gardens. It is also the center for music and preferences. It ranges from old style geisha's entertainment to modern culture. You can find culture all over Japan, specially in Kyoto. But Tokyo has the most diverse group of culture, mostly because it is such a big city.

Religion
The main religions in Tokyo are Shintoism and Buddhism. Tokyo is a city of many shrines, with religious fervor directed toward honoring the cultural heritage. Most weddings in Tokyo are done in a Shinto Ceremony and most burials are done with a Buddhist funeral. There are many shrines and temples in Tokyo, despite it being a modernized city. Tokyo is not a religiously diverse place, but the religions it celebrate are greatly worshiped. There are shrines and memorials all over the city. If you walk through the city, even the modernized parts, you will small bits of religion everywhere.
I got all of these pictures from Culture Grams and National Geographic
